All natural, seasoned wood fibre horse bedding produced from Hardwood and Softwood fibres.

“I recently switched a few of our boxes from shavings onto Equibed.  Since then we have noticed a real difference in the time it takes to muck out, the amount of bedding we use and the size of the muck heap.  Needless to say we have now converted the whole yard!” Fred Bergendorff – International Show Jumper and Trainer - As seen on the BBC’s ‘Only Fools on Horses’

  • The dust content of a stable can be greatly reduced by using Equibed and it has been used successfully with horses suffering from COPD as well as easing other equine respiratory problems
  • As I’m sure you trainers will know a loss of as little as 1% of respiratory function can mean the difference from between winning or losing!

By keeping the bed dry on top, the stable will be a far healthier environment and will reduce the chances of mould spores and ammonia.  Equibed naturally absorbs and removes the wet from the top of the bed.  Farriers recommend the use of Equibed to improve thrush conditions and poor hoof quality; as the dampness is drained away efficiently from the bed surface.

Equibed is heavy enough to provide a firm and supportive base which hardly moves with horses on it.  This is a huge benefit when stabling has concrete flooring as it helps to stop capped hocks and scraped knees.
It also saves time and money in having to constantly replenish the bed and doesn’t cling to your horses’ mane and coat like other types of bedding.

The nature of the wood fibres means that it is so easy to muck out your new Equibed!  This saves you so much time; most people tell us that the total time spent on mucking out is reduced by up to half, giving you longer to make the most of the more enjoyable aspects of owning a horse!

Being of a smaller particle size much of the product falls through the fork resulting in much less wastage and you have a far smaller muck heap when compared to shavings and straw.

Furthermore the muck heap rapidly breaks down to form an excellent biodegradable mulch which even comes with the Organic Farmers and Growers Associations approval, allowing it to be spread on organic farmland in conjunction with other organic practices!

You will always find Eco Equibed competitively priced, especially when compared to other brands of horse bedding.  If you also consider its durability and lack of wastage then we believe you really are getting much better value!

All Natural Equibed comes in 25kg bale bags which are fully sealed so that you can store outside!

To maximise the benefits of Equibed we would recommend you bank the edges of your stable to improve the structure and aid in the mucking out process.  You will need between 6-10 bales to create your initial Equibed for a 12x12 stable.

To ensure a hygienic bed, droppings should be removed daily using gloves or a shavings fork.  By tossing soiled bedding up the banks it will separate droppings from the bedding and allow the removal of as little bedding as possible.  You will soon notice how easy this is compared to your last type of bedding!

Using a shovel, remove wet patches and move the dryer top layer to the banks of the bed.  More Equibed should be added when necessary to maintain a depth of roughly 6 inches; however you will obviously need much less if you are using Equibed with rubber matting.
